Dept. of Physics is established in the academic session 1978-79 to impart Bachelor in Science course with honours and general with a vision to inculcate scientific temperament in the young buds interested to focus their study with Physics honours.

 Mission:

  The department of Physics has its mission to take care of its young buds for their all-round development to meet the challenges of contemporary world in the way of generating their interest not only in the subject but also in personality development, leadership quality to undertake the social responsibility with spotless character and probity.

Student Intake Capacity:

The student intake capacity in BSc Physics Honours course was restricted to 16 from the academic year 1990-91. With the growing demand of the pupil and public, the Govt. has been pleased to increase the sanctioned strength from 16 to 48 in the academic year 2004-05 and further increased the strength from 48 to 56 in the year 2016-17.

4. Evaluation System:

 A systematic method of evaluation is adopted for periodical assessment of every individual student conducting Monthly Test, Mid-Semester Examination in regular intervals before the conduct of End Semester examination. In addition to that the practical examinations in every paper of all the semesters are conducted along with the evaluation of project submission and presentation.

            In the same way the evaluation of the teaching faculty is done in every year by the students of every semester in the way of student feedback method.

            This evaluation system keeps the student and the teacher alert and up to date every now and then.
