  • Name of the Department: Department of Chemistry

    a) Brief History of the Department: The Department was established on the year 1978-79 with 16 Chemistry (pass) seats which was increased to 64 on 18.02.1992. Chemistry (Hon’s) was started with 16 seats for the session 1981-82 by Letter No. 3754. Again Chemistry (Hon’s) seats were increased from 16 to 48 on dated 30.06.2015. On 18.11.2016 the Hon’s seats were  further increased to 56 on 18.11.2016. The Department is now running with 56 (Hon’s) seats.

    b) Vision: To become an institute of great reputation, in the fields of chemistry, applied Chemistry by offering a full range of programmes of global standard to foster research and to transform the students into globally competent personality.

    c) Mission: To motivate students to pursue higher education, appear for competitive examinations and other value added programmes. To provide opportunity to the students and bring about their inherent talent.
